Former WNBA star planning $28.5 million youth sports facility in Sunnyvale

SUNNYVALE (Dallas Morning News) – Former Women's National Basketball Association player​​ ​Fran Harris is partnering with Eric Woerner to build a $28.5 million youth sport​s facility.

Situated on 38 acres near the intersection of Town East Blvd. and Belt Line Rd., the development will include courts and fields for baseball, softball, football, soccer, and volleyball, as well as restaurant, live event, and retail space.

The Miracle League will provide a baseball field for children with disabilities.

The city is providing $2 million in tax incentives for the project, which breaks ground in second quarter 2022.

Hillwood sets mixed-use community into motion

MANVEL (Realty News Report) – Hillwood Communities has started construction on Valencia, a master-planned community north of SH 6.

The 440-acre community will have 938 single-family lots with 28 acres reserved for commercial space and 15 acres for a new elementary school. 

​Homesites range from 40- to 70-ft lots priced from $300,000 to $600,000.

Valencia will also include several surrounding acres of trails and lakes.

The residences will be built by Perry Homes, Coventry Homes, and Pulte Homes.​
Despite Zillow's recent buying halt, iBuying is here to stay. Though not for everyone, it will continue to be an option for trading homes and generate more business for ancillary services. Two Center researchers say more in a new Barron's article.

PEM Real Estate picks up 361-unit apartment complex

SAN ANTONIO (REBusiness Online) – PEM Real Estate Group has purchased The Mark Huebner Oaks, a 361-unit apartment community at 11138 Huebner Oaks. 

Built in 2018, the property has one- to three-bedrooms. Rents range from $1,254 to $2,220 per month. 

Amenities include a pool, rooftop terrace, golf simulator, and pet salon. 

IPA represented the seller and developer, an affiliate of Godfrey Residential Group, in the transaction.

EastGroup starts on 120,600-sf project in metro Houston

KATY (REBusiness Online) – Mississippi-based EastGroup Properties has broken ground on Grand West Crossing 1, a 120,600-sf industrial project.

Within a larger master-planned devel​opment, the project will have 28-ft clear heights and include five additional buildings for build-to-suit opportunities.

JLL is marketing the project for lease. 

Construction will be complete by second quarter 2022.​

Whole Foods developing $20M distribution center

​​​​MANOR (Austin Business Journal) – Whole Foods Market Inc. is developing a 132,942-sf distribution center at 9917 Hill Ln. 

The center will include distribution and warehouse space, an administrative area, refrigeration and an outdoor area for members.

Construction begins in early January 2022 and will finish in March 2023.

$70M cold storage facility slated for northeast San Antonio

​​​​​​SAN ANTONIO (San Antonio Business Journal) – Cold Creek Solutions is breaking ground on a 305,000-sf speculative cold storage facility in the Connection Business Park along Foster Rd. 

Construction will be complete by 4Q2​022. 

ARCO National Construction is the design builder. Pape-Dawson Engineers Inc. is the civil engineer.
