NEW BRAUNFELS - As the population along the I-35 Corridor continues to grow, so does the demand for health care and housing. To address this increased demand, EdenHill Communities is investing $72 million to renovate and expand its New Braunfels continuing-care retirement complex, located at 265 Landa.

The centerpiece of that redevelopment is the Pinnacle at EdenHill, a new four-story building that will house more than 100 residential units and a clubhouse. Residents who occupy those units will have full access to on-site health care.

After the renovation and expansion is completed, the Pinnacle at EdenHill will have 69 assisted-living units, including 30 memory-support suites, and 174 skilled nursing beds.

At present, EdenHill has 47 independent-living units. That number will more than triple, to 150 such units, once the expansion is completed in late August.

Residents at EdenHill will range in age from about 63 years old and up. EdenHill is the only development of its kind in or near New Braunfels.
