SPRING - Construction is underway on a new CenterPoint Energy substation that will power Springwoods Village, a planned $10 billion, 1,800-acre mixed-use community along the west side of I-45 between the Hardy Toll Road and Grand Pkwy.
Located in the southeast portion of the community, it will supply power to more than 9 million sf of office and residential space. The substation is scheduled for completion in second quarter 2014.
The development will support 50,000 workers and residents while hosting corporate campuses for ExxonMobil and Southwestern Energy.
