EDINBURG - A $50 million 115,799-sf arena will be constructed off I-69 on Alberta Rd. Once completed, the arena, whose anchor tenant will be the RGV Vipers, will feature 8,500 seats and 2,400 parking spaces.

The arena will provide the local economy with a $96 million increase during the construction stage and $45 million annually once it’s operating.

The arena is expected to be completed by 2015, but the team plans to honor the reminder of their contract with State Farm Arena, which will keep them there for the next three years.

The Vipers have played at the State Farm Arena since their foundation in 2007, and are currently champions of the NBA Development League.
