AUSTIN - Passenger traffic at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (ABIA) was up 7 percent in October 2013 compared to the same month last year, according to the airport's data.
The airport has seen increases in passenger traffic in 45 of the past 46 months. In October, ABIA saw 878,016 passengers pass through the airport. For the year to date, the airport has seen passenger traffic of 8.32 million. That’s a 6 percent increase over the same period in 2012, when ABIA set its annual record of 9.4 million passengers.
October YTD (January–October 2013) air cargo totaled 130,039,203 lbs., up 2 percent compared to January–October 2012. International air cargo totaled 9,024,754 lbs., up 23 percent. Federal Express carried 86.4 million lbs., up 3 percent; and United Parcel Service carried 24.6 million lbs., down 4 percent.
