​​​​FORT WORTH – The Greater Fort Worth Association of Realtors has released its September 2018 housing report. 


Fort Worth home sales decreased 11.3 percent to 969 homes in September 2018. The median price for Fort Worth homes increased 9.2 percent year-over-year to $223,900 in September 2018.  “In September, we saw a larger decrease in sales than we have in a while,” said J.R. Martinez, 2018 President of the Greater Fort Worth Association of REALTORS®. “Our active listings are still increasing, so this could help more potential homebuyers enter the market.”  Fort Worth’s monthly housing inventory was 2.6 months in September 2018, .3 months more than the year prior. The Real Estate Center at Texas A&M University cites that 6.5 months of inventory represents a market in which supply and demand for homes is balanced.  Homes spent an average of 32 days on the market in September 2018, one day less than September 2017. Additionally, active listings increased 19.8 percent to 2,800 listings during the same time frame.
