AUSTIN – A portion of the St. Austin Catholic Parish campus just north of downtown is up for redevelopment.
The church wants to partner with a developer to consider commercial uses for two acres of the property it owns at 2026 Guadalupe St.
St. Austin will remain based at the site, but other structures on the property could be demolished and replaced, including a 221-parking garage at West Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and San Antonio St.
Whatever is built, the parish will need to use 100,000 sf for offices and its school.
A decision is expected by the end of summer 2018.
