DALLAS – Dallas-Fort Worth ranked as the No. 2 top commercial real estate investment market in CBRE's 2018 America Investor Intentions Survey.
North Texas ranked behind only Los Angeles/Southern California in the survey of commercial real estate investors.
The report shows that 88 percent of investors plan to maintain or increase spending this year, up from 83 percent in 2017. It also shows how investors view each of the different asset types:
Industrial is increasingly the preferred property type, cited by 50 percent of investors as the most attractive investment in 2018, up from 38 percent in 2017.
Multifamily is the next most attractive property type, cited by 20 percent of investors, though its share decreased from last year.
Around 14 percent of investors said they plan to invest in office properties in 2018.
The retail sector improved modestly from last year, up from 8 percent to 10 percent despite competition from e-commerce.
