​​​​​​​​SANTA CLARA, Calif. – ​Austin is the third-best city nationally for recent college grads, according to a study from Realtor.com. Only Fargo, N.D., and Lincoln, Neb., ranked higher.

Texas' capital city has seen its population nearly double in the last quarter century. It now boasts a millennial population of 523,490. Home of the University of Texas' flagship campus, Austin ranks high in the percentage of residents with a bachelor's degree.

The median home price is $392,000, and the median one-bedroom apartment rent is $1,150 per month. 

The city also earned top marks for new business creation. Austin is sixth in the nation when it comes to expanding into fast-growing job sectors popular with millennials, such as financial analysis and graphic design.​

Other cities in the top ten are Madison, Wis.; Charlottesville, Va.; Sioux Falls, S.D.; Des Moines, Iowa; Columbus, Ohio; Oklahoma City, Okla.; and Boulder, Colo.​
