SAN ANTONIO – Downtown expects to get an infusion of hundreds of more workers courtesy of a medical technology company.

It is confirmed that CaptureRx, headquartered near San Antonio International Airport, has agreed to remain in the Alamo City and move its operations to the historic Kress Building on East Houston St.

The company has agreed to expand its workforce to more than 300 people over six years, which would take up approximately 60,000 sf in the downtown building.

CaptureRx signed the downtown 60,000-sf lease with local developer GrayStreet Partners to occupy all of the office space created by combining the neighboring Kress Building and the former children's museum property along East Houston Street.

One of the multiple factors for the company deciding to remain in San Antonio was the opportunity be part of what some local leaders believe is the beginning of a real downtown renaissance.

Developer GrayStreet Partners plans to spend more than $10.5 million renovating the building.

CaptureRx Chairman Chris Hotchkiss founded CaptureRx in San Antonio in 2000. The company provides health care technology support services to more than 2,700 pharmacies, as well as 500 hospitals and health centers in 45 states.
