MANOR - Capitol Wright Distributing LLC plans to close facilities in early February 2017 in Taylor, La Grange, South Austin and two in North Austin as it moves into a 442,000-sf facility at 10095 US Hwy. 290 near Manor.

The Austin beer distributor that handles delivery for many national and craft brands in Central Texas is consolidating all of its regional operations into one plant, which affects hundreds of jobs and shifts an important piece of the city's alcohol business to the suburban periphery.

The new location, at the southeast corner of Hwy. 290 and the SH 130 toll road, will put all of the company's incoming deliveries under one roof and cut expenses by maximizing operating efficiencies.

The company employs more than 600 people.

The Capitol Wright facilities set to close are:
  • South Austin facility, 3830 Promontory Point Dr., 132 jobs;
  • La Grange facility, 5230 W. SH 71, seven jobs;
  • North Austin facility, 10300 Metropolitan Dr., 186 jobs;
  • Taylor facility, 901 South Main St., 33 jobs;
  • 401C Parker Rd., near the border of Austin and Round Rock, 400 jobs.
