HOUSTON - A global law firm has opened its first Houston office in a downtown trophy tower.
Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe opened a Houston office in two stories at Fulbright Tower at 1301 McKinney Ave. The firm is leasing the 41st and 42nd floors of the tower, which adds up to 48,000 sf.
Charles Gordon, Paul Penland and Stephen Bay of CBRE represented Orrick in the lease.
Orrick Houston will be the firm’s 25th office worldwide and will have a founding team of 20 partners.
The Central Business District submarket, which houses Fulbright Tower, is poised for a rough 2016.
Several million sf of office space is expected to come online—either as sublease or direct lease space—in downtown Houston in 2016.
