Austin's 1.1 million-sf big AppleAustin's 1.1 million-sf big Applehttps://www.recenter.tamu.edu/news/newstalk-texas/?Item=105002015-09-08T05:00:00Z2015-09-08T21:00:00ZAUSTIN – California-based Apple Inc. has developed 38 acres at West Parmer Lane and Delcour Dr. into its second-largest operation in the world.

The campus, from which the company will run its business operations for the entire Western Hemisphere, will include seven limestone-and-glass office buildings with a combined 1.1 million sf.

Apple will receive $35 million in tax incentives from the city, county and state for its Capitol City expansion. Under the terms of the 2012 incentives package, Apple agreed to create more than 3,600 full-time jobs while retaining at least 3,100 existing full-time jobs. It also agreed to spend $282 million on new buildings and equipment in the area over the next decade.

The first four buildings have opened with three more slated for completion by late next year.

Apple has already expanded in Austin with the purchase of Riata Crossing in March. It also signed a lease for the entire Capital Ridge office building.
