Allen ranked second on the list, behind only Overland Park, Kan. Other Texas cities in the top ten were No. 5 Frisco, No. 6 Plano, No. 7 Carrollton and No. 8 McKinney.

According to the analysis, the median household annual income (adjusted for cost of living) is five times greater in Frisco than Paterson, N.J. The average energy cost per household is three times greater in Honolulu than in Denton.

Other U.S. cities that landed in the top ten were Centennial, Colo.; Broken Arrow, Okla.; Longmont, Colo.; and Thornton, Colo.
