Levy Park Construction Begins
Updates include an improved community garden, expanded dog park, an event lawn and performance pavilion, a children’s play area, an activity lawn with outdoor games and an interactive water feature.
The Upper Kirby Redevelopment Authority previously said it would invest $8 million to $10 million for park improvements.
Local developer Midway is also planning a development around the park. It will face the park to encourage foot traffic there.
That development will be called Kirby Grove and include a 270-unit, midrise residential tower with outdoor deck space and a parking garage. There will also be a nearly 250,000-sf building for Class-A office space with ground-floor retail and restaurants with outdoor patios.
