Construction is underway on the Marketplace at Craig Ranch, a 100,000-sf shopping center at Custer Rd. and Stacy Rd. It will have a supermarket and other retailers. Encore Enterprises Inc. has bought 20 acres for the retail center.

Craig Ranch and the city are also building a 137-acre office park, McKinney Corporate Center Craig Ranch, which is already partly leased to Barclays Bank.

Other projects underway in the development include:

  • a ten-screen, 40,000-sf Moviehouse & Eatery at the northeast corner of Craig Ranch Pkwy. and SH 121 (opening late this year);
  • a Holiday Inn Express on SH 121; and
  • 10.5 acres on SH 121 and Stacy Rd. purchased by Sewell Automotive Co. for a 65,000-sf Audi dealership.

There are currently 10,000 residents at Craig Ranch. That number is projected to reach 20,000 in the next five years. There are over 1,400 home lots under construction or about to start there.
