More housing for Texas State’s West Campus
SAN MARCOS – The Texas State University System’s Board of Regents approved the construction of an approximately $60.5 million West Campus Housing Complex. The new residence hall will hold 578 beds in suite-styled rooms. The site was the previous location of the University Performing Arts Center. Construction will begin mid semester.
The new residence hall is being built to accommodate the growing population of students living on campus. The suites will have two bedrooms joined by a single bathroom.
The housing complex is part of the university’s 2012-2017 Campus Master Plan. The projected completion date is summer 2014, with the hall opening to residents for the 2014 fall semester.
