McALLEN – Construction on the new $20 million, 58,700-sf Department of Veterans Affairs clinic in McAllen is now underway after a groundbreaking ceremony that included U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison, U.S. Representative Henry Cuellar and U.S. Representative Ruben Hinojosa.

The outpatient clinic, located at the intersection of N. McColl Rd. and E. Hackberry, will replace McAllen’s existing 27,700-sf clinic and offer an array of new services ranging from prosthetics to mental health.

When the clinic opens late summer 2013, local veterans will no longer have to drive to San Antonio for routine medical care.
