LUBBOCK - Texas Tech University has opened the newly named College of Media and Communication building. The remodeled 204,495-sf building at 15th St. and Flint Ave. was formerly the Rawls College of Business building.

Construction for the $25 million project was completed in four separate phases to allow occupancy during construction. The building will also house other departments and areas, including KTXT-FM student radio, Student Media, Army ROTC, Annual Giving Program, Academic Support and Facilities Resources, Atmospheric Science, Communication Studies and the Texas Tech University Press.

The facility includes 210 offices, 14 conference rooms, 25 general purpose classrooms and 16 dedicated classrooms and laboratories.
