LUBBOCK - The Lubbock Economic Index increased for the tenth consecutive month, rising in July to 126.3, up from 125.8 in June and up 4.6 percent from the July 2011 index of 120.7.
The increase reflects gains in several key areas of the economy, including a 32.1 percent increase in auto sales, an 11.7 percent increase in retail sales and a 1.7 percent increase in home sale prices compared with July 2011, according to Lubbock National Bank.
