ROCKWALL - Texas A&M University-Commerce has signed a five-year lease for 25,500 sf at the 365-acre Rockwall Technology Park, located just south of I-10 off of FM 549. The new location will allow the university to become the most visible and potentially dominant force of higher education in Rockwall County.
Started in 2001, the Rockwall branch of the university has outgrown its dedicated hallway at the school district administration building at 1050 Williams St.
Texas A&M-Commerce provides two master’s programs in education and one in business in Rockwall, but with the move is the potential for expanded offerings.
The new space will include eight classrooms and office space with room to expand and an option to take the new lease through 2021. Plans are to open the new Rockwall campus for the 2013 spring semester.
