HP expansion completed in West El Paso; still hiring
EL PASO – Hewlett-Packard (HP) has completed its expansion with renovation of a 60,000-sf building near its other building at 7730 Market Center. Located in the Northwest Corporate Center on El Paso’s West Side, the building renovation cost was estimated at $3.3 million, according to public filings.
HP took over operation of the El Paso center in 2008, when it acquired EDS Corp., a Dallas technology services giant. EDS opened the center in 2005.
Several hundred technology professionals work at the HP center, but the company does not divulge employment numbers for individual facilities.
Since 2011, HP has hired more than 260 people for the center at various job fairs, El Paso Times reports show. It plans to continue to hire people in coming months.
The El Paso facility is one of three software application delivery centers HP operates in the United States. It provides software applications management services for private companies and government agencies.
