DALLAS - The Radisson Hotel at 6070 N. Central Expy. near Southern Methodist University is undergoing an $8 million renovation and will soon be known as the Holiday Inn Dallas Park Cities.

Trigate Capital, which owns the 295-room hotel, is renovating all of the hotel guest rooms, lobby, restaurant, exterior architecture and the 12,000 square feet of meeting space. Renovations are expected to be complete by the end of the year, and the Holiday Inn name will go into effect by October.

The Radisson had an average revenue per available room of $34.56 for the 12 months ending June 30, 2012, according to Source Strategies Inc.

The Doubletree just north a few exits north has about the same amount of rooms and saw RevPAR of $71.20. The Doubletree charges about $30 more in its average daily rate.

The hotel sits across the highway from the Bush Library, which is set to open in spring 2013.
