DEL RIO, VAL VERDE COUNTY - The Paces Foundation has opened Las Brisas Manor, a 48-unit senior independent living community.

The three-story, 60,229-sf residential complex features 15 one-bedroom units and 33 two-bedroom units. The one-bedroom, one-bath units are each 669 sf with rates from $223 to $463. The two-bedroom, two-bath units are each 1,010 sf in size with rates from $209 to $542.

The facility is located on a four-acre site at 1972 South US Hwy. 277. Las Brisas Manor is the first senior affordable living development to achieve Green Built Texas standards. All units include Energy Star kitchen appliances, a furnished common area, laundry room, outdoor patio.

The facility is adjacent to the existing Las Brisas Apartments, a family-oriented affordable housing community built by The Paces Foundation in 2005.

The Paces Foundation received more than $6.4 million in funding, including a $500,000 Affordable Housing Program grant from Community National Bank and FHLB Dallas in 2010 to construct Las Brisas Manor.

Del Rio is a border city in Texas and the county seat of Val Verde County, also home to Laughlin Air Force Base, the busiest pilot training base in the United States Air Force.
