Corpus’ Carroll High School getting 380,000-SF replacement
CORPUS CHRISTI – Construction is set to begin on September 10 on Corpus Christi Independent School District’s (CCISD) $70 million Mary Carroll High School located at 3750 Cimarron Blvd. The 380,000-sf facility — which is planned to house 2,400 students — will replace the current Carroll High School.
The high school is part of the district’s $125 million bond program approved by voters in November 2010. The project will purse the certificate of Leadership in Energy and Environment Design (LEED).
The program also includes the estimated $25 million Adkins Middle School, which is expected to be about 155,000 sf and house 1,000 students.
Both schools are on track for August 2014 openings, according to Raymond Gignac, principal with local architecture firm Gignac & Associates.
