SAN MARCOS – City officials will break ground tomorrow on the two-year $10.2 million project to reconstruct downtown. As part of the Downtown Master Plan, improvements will be made to Hutchison St. from CM Allen Pkwy. to LBJ Dr. and from Hopkins to University Dr.

Improvements will feature underground electric and telecommunications, street and sidewalk reconstruction, drainage, water, and wastewater improvements. A water quality pond will also be constructed in San Marcos Plaza Park.

Construction is expected to take 23 months with completion estimated in the summer of 2014.
