AUSTIN - HID Global, an identity security company based in California, plans to bring 276 jobs and a new manufacturing and distribution facility to Northeast Austin.

The company will build a 200,000-sf plant at 601 Center Ridge Dr. where it will consolidate its U.S. production operations.

HID Global plans to create 147 jobs in 2014 and 129 jobs the following year. The company would hire about 90 percent of the plant's employees locally.

The incentives package for HID Global includes a $1.9 million grant from the Texas Enterprise Fund and about $920,000 in property tax rebates from the City of Austin over a ten-year span. The city's rebates would require that HID Global meet certain hiring, capital investment and diversity thresholds.
