SAN ANTONIO – The University of Texas System Board of Regents has authorized Vanguard Health Systems to develop a free-standing children’s hospital in the Alamo City.

The $350 million, 250-bed facility will anchor a network of clinics that provide access to top pediatric care throughout the region.

Vanguard will partner with the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia on the project. The San Antonio Medical Foundation is providing 15 acres next to the Health Science Center’s Medical Arts & Research Center, located in the South Texas Medical Center.
