AUSTIN - According to On Numbers, Austin ranks No. 2 in the September version of its Economic Index for setting the pace for private-sector job growth and boosting local employment by 7.1 percent since 2007.
Oklahoma City came in at No. 1 for strong worker earning and low unemployment.
The On Numbers Economic Index measures the economic health of 102 major metropolitan areas. The 18-part formula-based test assesses private-sector job growth, unemployment, earnings, housing-price appreciation, and construction and retail activity.
