MIDLAND - COM Aquatics has announced a Fundraising campaign a new $7 million FMH Foundation Natatorium.
The center has plans to break ground on a new 50-meter covered lap pool in the lot north of the current aquatic center. The new natatorium will be a separate structure from the COM. It will be about 40,000-sf and include a 12-foot deck and seating for 1,000 spectators.
The organization has already raised $5.3 million of the $7 million needed to construct the facility. A groundbreaking is scheduled for March 15 with a target completion date a year later on March 15, 2014.
The indoor facility will be the first of its kind in Midland, and the pool will accommodate swim teams from COM, MISD and UTPB.
