AUSTIN - Since the recession, Austin has added 400 jobs in the retail sector. Employment at stores and mail-order operations rose 0.49 percent between July 2007 and July 2012, according to the On Numbers analysis of data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The Capital City had 81,200 retail trade jobs in July 2007 and had 81,600 as of July 2012.
