EL PASO – Carmike Cinemas plans to put a 13-screen movie theater near Montana Ave. and Joe Battle Blvd. Anthony Properties is developing the 15-acre site across Montana from Walmart and Lowe’s home improvement stores.
The site will include four sit-down restaurants and will cost about $15 million to $16 million to complete.
The theater will have a 600-seat, BigD auditorium. Construction should begin by end of 2012 and it is expected to open summer 2013.
The Carmike theater is about a mile from where Cinemark plans to build a 14-screen theater.
