PARIS, LAMAR COUNTY – The 375,000-sf former Sara Lee plant has been bought by 2020 Paris LLC, a joint subsidiary of New Mill Capital and Calif.-based Industrial Realty Group (IRG).

The new owner has signed a brokerage agreement with CBRE in Dallas to help market the 89-acre facility, located at 2020 19th St. NW.

The Sara Lee plant is what is referred to as “Fortune 500 quality. This is a great property,” Thomas Messmer of IRG said. “The Sara Lee plant is in absolutely great shape.”

The property includes a small office building in the old credit union and about 45 usable acres where a smaller building could be constructed next to the rail spur. The building can be adapted for two to three tenants fairly easily and has good manufacturing space, 40,000 sf of freezer space, and solid infrastructure.

In its heyday, Sara Lee kept up to 750 people employed at the plant.

IRG’s list of properties includes more than 50 million sf in 70 sites across the country.
