Lubbock sales tax take up 11.5 percent
LUBBOCK – The City of Lubbock received a sales tax payment of more than $4.32 million, up 11.62 percent from the $3.87 million received in September 2011, according to the Comptroller of Public Accounts.
For the year to date, the city has received nearly $41.4 million in sales tax revenues, up 7.52 percent from the $38.5 million received through September 2011.
Lubbock County received more than $1.48 million, up 10.75 percent from the $1.33 million the state paid out in September 2011.
The county’s year-to-date total is more than $14.1 million, 6.29 percent better than the nearly $13.3 million received through September 2011.
The state completed its fiscal year with $24.1 billion in sales tax revenues, a 12.6 percent increase from the previous year.
