SAN ANGELO – Angelo State University (ASU) has been recognized for the fourth consecutive year as a “Military Friendly School” by G.I. Jobs magazine and for the third year in a row by Colleges of Distinction.

G.I. Jobs’ 2013 Military Friendly School list included the top 15 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools — 1,739 institutions — that do the most to ensure the success of students in the military, veterans and their spouses.

The recognized schools are making the grade by offering scholarships and discounts, veterans’ clubs,  military credit and other services to those with military experience, according to G.I. Jobs.

Universities are recognized by Colleges of Distinction for excellence in the "Four Distinctions," which are engaged students, great teaching, vibrant communities and successful outcomes, according to Wesley L. Creel, the founder of the site.
