BRYAN - Gunler Foods has broken ground on a $15 million production facility on 25 acres in the Texas Triangle Park industrial site, located on the east side of Hwy. 6 in north Bryan, between FM 2818 and OSR.

The 110,000-sf plant marks the Mexico-based company’s first U.S. based facility. The industrial park is located near the Union Pacific railroad that has direct access to the Port of Houston.

Gunler will initially build two production facilities. One will bottle and label edible cooking oil products. The other will manufacture paper products including napkins, tissue paper, and kitchen towels.

The company is expected to hire 250 employees with an annual payroll of $6.2 million.

Gunler paid a below-market price of $33,000 per acre for the 25 acres, a total of $825,000. The industrial park is owned jointly by Bryan and Brazos County.
