HARRIS COUNTY – Postings and foreclosures for Harris County are down in September, according to the Foreclosure Information & Listing Service. Properties posted for foreclosure fell 23.1 percent from 3,480 in September 2011 to 2,676 in September 2012.
Foreclosure activity decreased 36.4 percent — from 1,091 in September 2011 to 694 in September 2012.
The 12-month total of postings decreased for the 15th consecutive month to 38,144 and is at its lowest point in over two years.
The listing service notes that the downward trend in postings is expected to continue through 2012. The 12-month total of foreclosures has fluctuated between 11,000 and 12,000 since July 2011.
