HOUSTON - Electronic Power Design (EPD) is renovating a 250,000-sf facility in north Houston on I-45 just north of Airtex. The company bought the ten-acre property in summer 2012, along with an adjacent parcel almost as large that will be used for expansion.

A large array of solar panels will produce 220 kilowatts of power — enough to run air conditioners for 45,000 sf of the manufacturing area. The building will serve as EPD’s new corporate headquarters and production facility.

EPD has outgrown its current 70,000-sf building on Clinton Dr. on the East End. The new space should be ready by early 2013.
