TEMPLE - Of the 50 community college districts in Texas, ten have reported increases or level enrollment. Temple College (TC) enrollment for fall 2012 is down about 1.5 percent compared to the last four years.

The head count for fall 2012 is 5,610, compared to 5,692 in fall 2011, 5,966 in fall 2010, and 5,695 in fall 2009.

Contact hours — the time a student spends with an instructor — at TC are down about 6.4 percent over the past year — 1,026,670 this semester, compared to 1,096,760 for fall 2011.

On the main campus, contact hours for fall 2012 stand at 618,936. In fall 2011 the number was 668,952.

Contact hours at the Cameron site are up compared to last year — 20,016 for fall 2012 and 19,440 for fall 2011. However those numbers are down significantly compared to the previous two years — 38,640 in 2010 and 35,872 in 2009.
