Husband-wife households in Travis County

AUSTIN – Nearly 73 percent of households in Travis County are husband-and-wife families, according to a report from the Business Journals’ On Numbers.

Out of 229,929 households in Austin, 166,885 are husband-wife units, according to the report based on data from the U.S. Census Bureau.
 
The 2010 federal census counted 77.54 million families in the United States, with 56.51 million — 72.9 percent — fitting the husband-wife definition.
