HOUSTON – Houston Community College (HCC) has begun a complete renovation of the San Jacinto Memorial Building at its central campus at 1300 Holman St. The $35 million project is expected to be complete in fall 2013 and will add classroom, office space and an auditorium.

The exterior facade of the historic building will be restored and upgraded, while the interior finishes will be completely demolished and rebuilt. HCC will submit the structure for historical building consideration and for LEED Silver certification.

The 170,000-sf facility was built in 1914.
