SOUTH DALLAS – Construction has started L’Oreal’s $22.5 million regional distribution hub at the International Inland Port of Dallas. The new 513,000-sf facility will sit on 50 acres near Telephone Rd. and Lancaster Ave.

This new facility, expected to be completed third quarter 2013, will bring 125 jobs to the area, with an average annual salary around $35,000. L’Oreal plans to invest $6.5 million in business equipment for the facility and pay $3.5 to $5 million to develop public infrastructure on the land.

The Dallas City Council approved roughly $4.5 million worth of incentives for L’Oreal to come to the area, including a $1.8 million tax abatement and an economic development grant worth nearly $2 million.

The 234,000-acre Inland Port is seeing 4 million sf of new development. In the past year, Home Depot, Kohl’s Department Stores, Whirlpool and American Standard announced major expansions of their distribution centers.
