Arlington: Viridian lots flying off the shelves
ARLINGTON – Dust is flying fast and furious at the $2 billion Viridian project in north Arlington, as developers prepare residential lots as quickly as they can.
Three dozen houses are under construction at the 2,300-acre development, just north of Green Oaks Blvd. off Collins St. Houses currently under construction are selling for $240,000 to $475,000.
In July, the first 180 lots were ready. In November, the first residents are expected to begin moving in. Developer Huffines Communities will soon start on the second phase of lots, which will include 250 more lots that will be ready in January and February 2013.
Viridian will have 3,500 single-family homes and 1,500 condos, townhouses and apartments. A town center will have 400,000 sf for offices and medical space, and 400,000 sf for shops and restaurants.
Viridian stretches from the Riverside Golf Club along Texas 360 on the east to Collins St. on the west, and between Green Oaks Blvd. and the Trinity Railway Express line on the north.
