BROWNSVILLE – Tru-Tone Finishing Inc. will be launching operations in the Brownsville South Padre International Airport Industrial Park. The Chicago-based industrial coatings firm will be leasing a 54,000-sf facility in the industrial park.

The plant should be operational by December 2012 and at full production capacity by the first of 2013. Between 35 and 50 new manufacturing jobs will be coming to Brownsville.

The Brownsville plant will “electro-coat” small metal components for automotive applications. E-coating, as it’s commonly called, serves to fight corrosion.

Tru-Tone may also start offering powder coating services at the Brownsville plant if there’s sufficient demand, which would require more employees, according to Greg Klemenswicz, the company’s general manager.
