NORTH TEXAS – Existing home sales in North Texas were up again in September, with Real estate agents selling 6,103 single-family homes through the MLS, a 10 percent year-over-year gain, according to the Real Estate Center at Texas A&M University and North Texas Real Estate Information Systems.

With September’s increase, home sales in the area this year are 15 percent ahead of where they were through the first nine months of 2011. Annual sales are expected to be up about 12 to 13 percent, according to Dr. James Gaines, an economist with the Center.

Home sales in North Dallas were up 50 percent in September from 2011; sales rose by 49 percent in the Park Cities and 45 percent in East Dallas.
