ALICE - The City of Alice has approved the construction of a $12 million multipurpose facility. The city is partnering with ZJZ Hospitality to construct the complex that will include a natatorium, training center and hotel.
The complex will be constructed south of the Whataburger at US 281 and SH 44. A $1.2 million federal grant, awarded by the U.S. Economic Development Administration, will pay for sewer and water line extensions to the city’s west side.
There also are plans to construct a Tex-Best truck stop in the same area. That $3.5 million project is expected to bring in 30 jobs.
