KILLEEN – Killeen has been named one of the 75 best cities for college students by the American Institute for Economic Research in its 2012-13 College Destinations Index.
The 75 cities were categorized by population size, with Killeen being ranked 19th out of 20 in the “small cities” category, which includes those with a population between 250,000 and 1 million.
Other Texas towns and cities in the top 75 this year include Austin, Lubbock, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio and College Station.
The index measures the informal learning environment of a city based on three major areas, academic environment, quality of life and professional opportunity.
