MIDLAND – Midland had the fourth lowest unemployment rate in the nation at 3.8 percent for August 2012, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

It was the lone city in Texas to crack the top ten. The two lowest unemployment rates were found in North Dakota — Bismarck at 2.6 percent and Fargo at 3.2 percent.

Midland ranked seventh in June with a 4.3 percent rate and sixth in July with a 4.2 percent rate.
