GEORGETOWN - The first phase of the Water Oak at San Gabriel master-planned community has begun south of Hwy. 29 at Water Oak Pkwy. The first phase contains 79 lots that will be built by Grand Haven Homes, Wilshire Homes and Scott Felder Homes.

In the second phase, about 58 additional lots will be released on the north side of the project. Then, during the next three to four months, 172 lots will be brought to market on the south side of the development off Ranch Rd. 2243.

Galo Properties, developer on the project, will build a $3.5 million bridge across the San Gariel River to connect the north and south neighborhoods. Currently, Galo Properties is dedicating a 63-acre park along the river to the city.

The Water Oak at San Gabriel project plans to contain 3,400 housing units and about 260,000 sf of retail space. The community will stretch a total of 1,354 acres.
