WESLACO – The Lower Rio Grande Valley Development Council (LRGVDC) has plans for a multimillion-dollar expansion of its facility on Railroad St. and they have secured nearly $1.6 million in a grant from the Economic Development Administration.

The 10,000-sf building will house the council’s economic development, disaster recovery, homeland security and health and human services offices. It will also free up about 6,000 sf of reception area in the existing space.

The council expects to break ground in early 2013 to build on a portion of the parking lot of the property at 301 W. Railroad St.
